CD Reviews

Bing Bang (Time To Dance)
Panthalassa | Illinois | 01/05/2007
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is the first single released from the international hit show LazyTown, containing 4 tracks not available on the US soundtrack. I'll go through them one-by-one the best I can.

1) Bing Bang (Time To Dance)

On my first listen, I didn't care much for the mix. It doesn't sound much like Mani Svavarsson's compositions for the show, but it's been growing on me for awhile now and I'm starting to like it as much as or more than the original as time goes on.

2) Bing Bang (Christmas Version)

The Christmas version of Bing Bang is pretty good, based strongly on the original with extra frills. It's an extended version at 2:54 and is different from the one featured in the "Surprise Santa" episode.

3) LazyTown Megamix

This seems like it was kind of a thrown-together sampler for those who haven't already heard the songs rather than an actual "megamix" that's supposed to flow together. The clips included are from No One's Lazy In Lazytown / Step By Step / Energy / Twenty Times Time / Teamwork / Good Stuff / Bing Bang (Time To Dance). It's skippable if you already know the songs.

4) I Love Christmas

This is an extended version of the song featured in "Surprise Santa". It's nice to have a fuller version, the original was pretty short. This one isn't actually remixed much as far as I can tell, just added onto.

5) Enhanced "Bing Bang (Time To Dance)" video

The video for the Bing Bang remix is really nice, the clips flow together well and are a good representation of the show, it's pretty good for a "clip video". It's in .flv format on the disc, but it includes an interactive player that will play the video for you if you don't have another player that supports .flv video.

Overall, if you're a fan of the show, there's no reason not to get this disc, it's a great set of tunes along with a great video at a decent price for an import if you get it used. I'd suggest getting the official soundtrack as well, it's a great show worth supporting and hopefully our purchases will prompt them to release more of the music to the U.S."
Bing Bang!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I love the music from Lazytown! Bing Bang is the song which is sung at the end of every episode (as far as I can tell) and this CD single lets you listen to it whenever you want. There is also a Christmas version of the song. It also has the Lazytown Mega-Mix, which can be hit-or-miss ... I don't like it myself but other people might.

Very good music and no bad words to have to filter out!"
