CD Reviews

Congratulations about this kind of music, LASERDANCE !!!

"In my opinion the best album of this group was Future Generation and near behind Discovery Trip. I like to travel by car with these musics, could be better if was in a space nave, eh! eh!"

"Donna Summer must have had no idea that her song "I Feel Love" would have had such an effect on dance music- some people have based whole careers around recreating that sound! An Italian dance combo called Hypnosis rworked the basic tune in their famous hit "Droid", but it was Dutch group Laserdance who really cornered the market with their futuristic slant on the whole Euro sound. The sound is a kind of mix of Giorgio Moroder and Patrick Cowley, with lots of references to computers, spaceships and alien invasions, but all featuring a variant of the famous bassline. Obviously, there are only so many tracks like this that anybody needs to hear, that is why this "Best Of" is the only Cd you will need. Its a shame that all Laserdance productions are purely instrumental, or with only robotic vocoder voices, as this sort of music is crying out for a bit of human emotion to offset the relentless sci-fi/space travel atmosphere. Laserdance producer Michiel van Der Kuy has other projects that feature female vocalists, such as Sisley Ferre, Attack, Sheila Stewart, etc, but these (often excellent)productions are tragically difficult to obtain on CD outside of Holland. Until someone re-releases those, this could be what you are looking for, especially if you are planning a disco with an outer space theme!"
