The lyrics are poetic but not intrusive or witty. A lot of electronic "retro" artists employ witty, tongue-in-cheek lyrics(Laptop, miss kitten), or are chock full of references to kitschy things(nasa), and/or have bubble gum childish pop lyrics (freezepop). Lali Puna has simple yet well- crafted poetry which flows with the music to create a more meaningful whole. yet both the words could stand alone as poetry and the music could stand alone as downtempo electronica. For fans of soviet, fischerspooner, and ladytron, as well as fans of idm such as boards of canada and autechre, lali puna is a must-listen."
