Album Description

2010 solo album from the Stereolab/Monade vocalist. Laetitia has been performing her new songs at solo live shows with just voice and electric guitar, but for The Trip she packed a band sound, with musical collaborators including Americans Rebecca Gates, Richard Swift and April March and French musicians Julien Gasc and Emmanuel Mario (who also collaborated on the final Monade album Monstre Cosmic). The band sound was conceived with a spare touch in mind. It was Laetitia's intention not to `overload or layer' the music on the new record too much.

Sad but lovely trip...groovy too!

"this is every bit as good as i hoped for. maybe better. four & a half stars really. the comparisons to Stereolab are obvious & that's ok. the cd is short as well & again...no complaints. it is still well conceived, orchestrated & produced with an excellent mellow groove. punchy bass lines, jangly guitars & lovely vocals. nice subtle touches & not overly noisey or laden with contrived artyness. in my opinion an uncluttered but lush & sensual bit of pop. i can live with the end of Stereolab as long as Ms. Sadier will continue to put out music this good."
