CD ReviewsBoth Sides Are Great Carl James Martinez | Fajardo, Puerto Rico | 01/08/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "This 1968 Tico Records release, produced by Pancho Cristal, finds the explosive La Lupe, still recording with the great Tito Puente at the very peak of her career, just before her rift with Puente, later that same year. The title, "Two Sides Of La Lupe", refers to the manner in which the selections were arranged on the finished Lp. The first five songs are hot and very danceable numbers, the other five are beautiful soulful ballads, as only she could performed them in her own unique way. The ballad, "Si Vuelves Tù", is one of my all-time favorites, and La Lupe does a wonderful rendition of it."
