CD Reviews

A great, diverse mix by one of the hottest duos in trance.

"Apart from the 2 opening tracks, which I didn't care for, the rest of this CD is solid. The first track is ok, but features some odd sounding vocals that are a little off. The 2nd is from the usually always reliable Ronski Speed, but I feel this track sounds a little too much like some early 80's electro. The Ronski Speed remix is the better version, but even that isn't much to speak of. The cd follows with 3 good house sounding vocal tracks, until getting back into trance with an excellent Ronski Speed track, 2Day. More Ronski Speed in his collaboration with Mirco De Govia on the track Asarja, which has been spun by every major trance DJ this year.

2 solid instrumentals are next, with the Kyau vs. Albert remix of Jump the Next Train following. It's a hot remix, and there were several versions of this song played all year, and all of them were nothing short of spectacular. The now overplayed Find by Ridgewalkers checks in with the less often played but solid KvA remix. One of the best trance tracks of the year follows, Kyau vs. Albert's own Made of Sun (in the form of an exclusive Positive Ways re-dit), and the CD closes with 3 good trance instrumentals.

As a bonus, you get a 2nd CD featuring remixes of KvA's 2 smash hits this year, with the following tracklisting:

1 Made of Sun (Album Edit)

2 Falling Anywhere (Rework Edit)

3 Made of Sun (KvA Hard Dub Edit)

4 Falling Anywhere (Rework)

5 Made of Sun (KvA Hard Dub)

Some vocal trance, house, instrumental trance, and a bonus CD featuring their hot vocal track, Made of Sun, and their instrumental track, Falling Anywhere, which were 2 of the best tracks of the year. This one is highly recommended. if you want an even better Kyau vs. Albert mix, the CD is called TechnoClub Next2, and it features Talla 2XLC on disc 1, and Kyau vs. Albert on disc 2. It's my pick for 2nd best trance mix of the year. It has only been available in Germany, unless US Amazon decides to stock it. One last note is that Positive Ways 4 seemed to take ages to reach US Amazon, as I had bought this one early in '05 from Germany."
Unbelievable!

"I felt compelled to write a review on this mix after i got and gave it a couple of listens- this cd is incredible. If you enjoy listening to Armin or Paul Van Dyk, or like listening to good melodic trance, this cd is king of that genre for sure. Currently i have too many mixes to name, recent and old, and i'm starting to find that these rare imports are in a class of their own. If you enjoy Kyau and Albert's "Made of Sun" or "Falling Anywhere" (which are on alot of other mainstream dj mixes), you should definetly get this cd because all the songs fall in the same mood, quality, and euphoric enjoyment as those two increadible songs. A nice feature is that this is one cd, which keeps the quality up. Most of the songs are vocals, so if you like vocals, this cd has some of the best vocals i've heard (one being "Over Again"). One thing i like about this cd is that it has different versions of "Made of Sun," "Find" and some others that you can't find anywhere else. This is by far the best purchase ive ever made in relation to trance music, so i hope you could give it a try and spend a (well-worth) little more on this import."
