CD Reviews

Best Chick In Blues
Ross Arden | 08/03/1999

"Kris, I love you! Some like Roxy Perry can sing a little better, but you play guitar better than any other female in modern blues...you play better than most males! This is a great CD. It is too bad you could only get a minor British label to release it. I sure hope one of the majors picks you up 'cause you have a great feel, sound, and voice. I saw you open for Coco Montoya a few years ago in California and I have been shocked not to see a release until now. I look forward to more releases."
If Kris is "Breaking the Rules"...

"May she continue to do so for a long time! If you like rockin' blues guitar don't hesitate to buy this disc. I rarely get really hooked on a disc after just one play but this one grabbed me and hasn't let go yet. I work in a record store and play this in-store a LOT. Every customer who I've recommended it to has come back and thanked me for it later, so check this out!!"
" QUEEN OF THE BLUES GUITAR "

"Kris Wiley is the most powerful blues guitar playing female of all time. The only thing I have ever heard that compares to her live in concert is Jimi Hendrix and Albert King's "Live Wire". The cd "Breaking The Rules" has great variety with outstanding vocals, guitar and solid backing musicians including horns. There isn't one lously track. The major record labels here in the states missed the boat on this one. I also like Davies, Raitt and Foley, but Kris is the "Queen of the Blues Guitar"."
