Product Description"?So, more surprisingly, was the Giorginakis work, Four Greek Images, replete with spicy Levantine harmonies and tricky 7/8 rhythms. Their strong ethnic elements, supported by those of Brouwer's Simple Studies (the first set), and the first Choro of Villa-Lobos (a brilliant, throwaway performance) and a Greek dance by Fampas, placed more onus than usual on the more formal musical works. Could they stand up to so powerful a projection of rhythm, melody and harmony? They could; and it is to Kostas Grigoreas's credit that he included them in this recital.
He plays with a consistently good tone, even when pushed to the limits of velocity. If he noticed the curious eyes peering through the windows, it did not show in his absorbed - and absorbing - playing. After a time, background noise receded. Perhaps it disappeared altogether. Either would be a tribute to the high accomplish¬ment of this gifted guitarist".
