New set of jazz from the dynamic Pondel/Pedley duo & friends

"With a new and expanded line up of musicians, Jon Pondel (guitars) and Ron Pedley (Hammond Organ, electric keyboards) have returned with an album full of smooth yet funky tunes. It is a groovy fun mix filled with toe tapping tunes--mostly original, but with covers of Low Rider and Use Me/Green Eyed Lady that are old lounge favorites. Personally, I like the original compositions best, but the entire album is a pleasure to hear. Listen to the samples, then pick up the album and get Cookin'. Recommended for lounge lizards and jazz lovers alike..."

"Finally heard this 2-man group (they do have back-up musicians) on XM's Watercolors channel 71. Hadn't heard them before but got hooked

on them right away. They've only released (to my knowledge) 2 CDs and I just received the second one (The Big Blast) yesterday. But if it is as good as this CD, then I'll be ecstatic! They were part of the line-up at GRP Records and don't know if they're still active

(either together or past of someone else's band) but for those of you who dig smooth jazz/cool jazz/contemporary jazz, these guys are a fine addition to your collection."
