"The Knights Five - Bing McCoy on organ, Ronnie Hughes vocals, Wilford Wilson III Tenor sax, Ronnie Cooke guitar, Skinny Brown drums. Heavy weights all in the little city of Charlottesville Va. Bing was a prodigy and an envy playing like Booker T at 14! he was probably 15 - 16 when this record got made. WWIII - a baritone singer playing tenor sax - his father was WWII - better known as "88 Keys" Wilson on piano. Ronnie Cooke had to go into the army and Bing was probably called to Chicago for the Bigtime and that left Ronnie Hughes, WW, and Skinny (a fatbacked bundle of infectious rhythm!) to find their way. They gathered up one Festus Jackson additional tenor sax and a baritone sax Buddy (??) and bass player James (??). Festus then called up yours truly to fill in for guitar and a new group The Hesitations was launched! The K5+1 equation shows up well on these tracks - their all in and all on - fast and tight - or slow and true to the rendering!"
