Album Description

The driving force behind the group Passport, for almost four decades now has been Klaus Doldinger. We now add 8 more titles to our already extensive Passport catalog. All of these titles are making their U.S. CD debuts, being only available as high price import CDs if you can find them.

"I was initially hesitant to purchase this 2-Disc set because so little info is available on it.

Apparently this is a live set recorded over several years originally released around 1981 as a 2-disc set. I discovered a listing for lots of guest musicians backing Saxophonist/Leader Klaus Doldinger and i'm personally more interested in hearing either the Passport band line-up or Doldinger all-solo (as in the studio album "Constellation")and not in a setting with an army of guest artists (like Etta James who appears here among many others).

Well, it turn out that these guests appear only on 1/4 of the album (what was originally the 3rd vinyl side) with the other 3/4's of the album by the early 1980's lineup of Passport (which I love), the quintet that recorded "Blue Tattoo"(1981)(one of my favorite Passport studio albums) and "Oceanliner" (1980).

Armed with this info I finally ordered this CD . Here's the info on the original vinyl release I found on the internet for those (like me) who like to know some details on the recordings we purchase:
