"I was initially hesitant to purchase this 2-Disc set because so little info is available on it.
Apparently this is a live set recorded over several years originally released around 1981 as a 2-disc set. I discovered a listing for lots of guest musicians backing Saxophonist/Leader Klaus Doldinger and i'm personally more interested in hearing either the Passport band line-up or Doldinger all-solo (as in the studio album "Constellation")and not in a setting with an army of guest artists (like Etta James who appears here among many others).
Well, it turn out that these guests appear only on 1/4 of the album (what was originally the 3rd vinyl side) with the other 3/4's of the album by the early 1980's lineup of Passport (which I love), the quintet that recorded "Blue Tattoo"(1981)(one of my favorite Passport studio albums) and "Oceanliner" (1980).
Armed with this info I finally ordered this CD . Here's the info on the original vinyl release I found on the internet for those (like me) who like to know some details on the recordings we purchase:
Live double album recorded at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1977 & 1980 and at concerts in Stuttgart and Mainz in June, 1980.
