Synopsis

Product Description
Already receiving massive acclaim across the Atlantic, Denmark's The Kissaway Trail will debut their first long player in America with the release of Sleep Mountain. The band's first album sparked enormous excitement in the UK and Europe with England's The Independent having named their self-titled 2007 album ''debut album of the year.'' 2009 sees the band's profile continuing to surge leading up to the anticipated release of Sleep Mountain with Pitchfork calling the album's first single ''SDP'' a ''six minute monster.'' Sleep Mountain was produced by Interpol and The National producer Peter Katis, who drew forth towering sound from the quintet, best evidenced on the epic and sweeping ''Don't Wake Up.'' Described as a, ''gutsier Pains of Being Pure at Heart'' by ever-respected music publication NME, The Kissaway Trail is uniquely poised to make good on the promises made by their first album and prove themselves to be one of the most dynamic and talked-about bands of 2010.

Better and more original than others are stating...

"Just a brief pause to examine the claims of unoriginality that seem to be floating around all of a sudden:

First, a vocalist can hardly help what his voice sounds like. So, saying that his voice sounding like Wayne Coyne's makes them unoriginal is ridiculous.

Second, similarities and influences do not automatically equal rip-off. There are qualities of this band's music that are nothing like Arcade Fire, who have never constructed a wall of sound as dense or of the same ambient quality as that present on Sleep Mountain.

I like, own, and listen to music by Arcade Fire and the Flaming Lips. And despite that, I still feel Sleep Mountain still has its own sound and style, regardless of influences.

Now, that aside, I'd like to say that I greatly enjoyed this band's debut three years ago, and consider this album to be an improvement in nearly every way. The ambiance created by the dense sound that runs throughout this album will stay with you even after the album has stopped playing.

The album is lacking a lot of the hooks that were present on the debut, and while they may have added to my enjoyment of the new album, somehow they're absence doesn't detract from it.

Hopefully, their third LP will combine the catchy hooks that gave their first album its pop accessibility with the dense, beautiful musical style that gives Sleep Mountain its emotional weight."
Listen to them before they get big:)

"I saw this Danish band three times in Austin. Each time they put on such a good, fun show. I and a few friends were very impressed.

This is their second album and is very well-produced. Buy their CD and see them in concert if you can!"
