Even Better Than Africana and Beyond!
07/07/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is one of the top releases in recent memory! Really great! If you are a Chaino fan you have to have this album. The other Chaino CD, Africana and Beyond, is great too but this one is better. It's more rock-n-roll than exotica, this time, but it's still wild and unique and is in better sound than Africana and Beyond, which was made off of the old records. Chaino was the best -- totally out of control. He gets lumped in with Las Vegas Grind and Frolic Diner artists, and some of his tracks have appeared on albums in those series, but he outclasses everybody else on those records."
Jungle,(Primitive) Rock
Kirby allan | Mesa, Arizona | 04/05/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"As the Producer of all 6 Chaino LP's of which were all recorded and leased out to 5 different record labels in 1958/59, I am elated by the acceptance that this truely great talented artist has received after 45 years. I am also proud and humbled by the many new Chaino fans worldwide who have accepted my work on these recordings. When I found Chaino in a long talent search for primitive drummers who I felt could fill the bill in my quest to "Americanize" primitive drums, my search ended. I origionally intended to use 100 drummers, but this man had it all, so I opted to record just his drumming alone. My plan was to use primitive drums as leading instruments, to stand on their own instead of being used only for background music as was previously/triditionally done. The many studio hours/weeks Chaino and I worked paid off creating the first four "drums only"
effective LP's that has ever been produced. Although all of my Chaino work was experimental, the other 2 LP's, "Africana" that I leased to Dot Records and "Temptation" I co-produced with Omega Records were experimental in different ways, with music. This CD, available in both CD and LP formats, was a far out experiment to create a "Jungle Rock" sound. I hadn't quite gotten the hang of Rock and Roll and relied on excellent, Top Rock studio musicians along with my good friend, John Campbell with his expertise in sound engineering and highly creative ability to feel and capture the Rock sounds on tape. Thank you for your interest. Respectfully Submitted, Kirby Allan"
