Strongly influenced by the fabulous Flaming Lips, this Chicago quartet the group changed its name from Fix Your Wagon after releasing one fine indie album, and it has returned with another that is even stronger. David Singer has a journalist's knack for telling detail and a poet's way with words, while guitarist Tim Riff (perfect name, eh?) is a psychedelic noise monster. The band deserves a much wider audience, and if you doubt it, just check out "Skinner Box," the opening track from Heaven, and an emotional diatribe against falling into the 9-to-5 world.
