CD Reviews

One of the most powerful Christian albums ever!
M. Darretta | 05/22/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

""No empty words and no white lies. No token prayers, no compromise."

(From "Make My Life a Prayer To You")

"No Compromise" is not your normal uplifting Gospel album. It is instead a sharp, take-no-prisoners rebuke against worldliness and lackluster Christian worship. With one of the most direct lines in Christian music ("Jesus rose from the grave, and you...you can't even get out of bed!"), Keith Green brings a prophetic message of all-out dedication to Christ and a single-minded commitment to sharing the Gospel.

"No Compromise" offers one of Green's signature cuts, "Make My Life a Prayer To You" (which my wife and I used in our marriage ceremony). His "Dear John Letter (To the Devil)" is a funny ditty with a pretty cool guitar solo. And "I Don't Wanna Fall Away From You" should be the cry of every true Christian. His most convicting moments begin with the amazing "Asleep in the Light" - a song that radically changed my perspective on what it meant to be a Christian. "To Obey Is Better Than Sacrifice" continues the motif of single-hearted commitment to God. The final track, "Altar Call", would end many of Green's concerts as a call to follow the narrow road and accept Christ as Lord and Savior.

Though "For Him Who Has Ears To Hear" may be Green's finest moment, "No Compromise" stands alone as one of the most necessary works in contemporary Christian music. Do yourself a favor and allow the late Keith Green to lead you on the journey of sold-out dedication to Christ."
If only more Christian music was this powerful...
Trevis Rothwell | United States | 06/09/2007

"Too much Christian music today is fluff. This album is anything but that. Keith Green wrote some remarkable songs that encourage Christians to wake up and act like what they say they are.

In addition to powerful lyrics, this album has some great music played by Bill Maxwell, Abraham Laboriel, Keith Green himself, and others."
