Synopsis

Album Description
The living legend of true-skool and conscious hip-hop, KRS One, offers up his new album, Prophets Vs Profits. This album contains 13 tracks that deal with the seemingly endless conflict between the conscious emcees and commercial rappers. A really powerful production, programmed by Soul Supreme, Da Beatminerz, A Sharp, Pleasure King, Alumni, J Roc and Mad Lion, all recorded at Pride Rock studios in L.A. Look out for the Aretha samples on the track 'I Remember'. Nocturne. 2005.

"Another fine release--albeit an import. Did not know that this one existed, but glad I found it. The Blastmaster always puts truth ahead of money, and reality ahead of fantasy. Great work!!"

"This is a really good album. This album is very similiar to The Mix Tape, with a couple of previously unreleased tracks."

"I found this used with no case in some hiphop store in Sacramento. Didn't know who KRS-One was, but something compelled me to buy it. This album changed my life. I never liked hiphop before because the MC's always seemed so lame, but KRS showed me it can be done right with this album. I still haven't found an emcee that even comes close.

This album is all about the lyrics. Don't let the production fool you...it may sound lo-fi and crappy, but that just causes you to focus on the lyrics all the more and then you realize the production is perfect and couldn't be any other way.;)

I like this album much more than the very similar Mixtape because it contains the track "Believe It" which brings me to tears every single time. That track is the best HipHop I have ever heard."
