Synopsis

Product Description
K. Page Stuart weaves an eerie vocalise , according to the Village Voice, and is one of NYC s most adventurous vocalists. She has trained classically with Carmen Mehta and Jeanette Lovetri and in experimental techniques with new music pioneer Meredith Monk. Before forming Sleepwalker's Parade she had been performing with downtown luminaries such as Antony of Antony and The Johnson's, Sarah East Johnson's girl power group, LAVA, toy instrument impresario, Rebecca Moore, and she wailed in the Great Hall of Cooper Union as part of the Poetry Society of America s tribute to Anne Sexton. Her own performances, Comedian from a Crumbling Empire, for piano and voice, and "Siren s Eye", a shared evening with jazz pianist Michiko Takatani, played to full houses at the Obie Award winning theater HERE, where she was Artist in Residence during the 2000-02 seasons. "The Memory Orchestra, for one vocalist and 7 actors, was supported by a residency at Vassar College through Voice and Vision theater and was presented by HERE. Other work received support through residencies at the famed artist s colony, Yaddo; the Obie Award winning theater, Soho Think Tank, where her road musical Western Unidad" was presented as part of the Ice Factory Festival in 2004; the Envision Lab through support from the Jerome Foundation; and at venues such as Dixon Place, PS 122, Danspace Project, and Merce Cunningham Studio. Also a poet, her work can be found in various journals alongside the likes of Ice Storm author, Rick Moody, and The Hours author, Michael Cunningham. Kristin formed K. Page and Sleepwalker's Parade in 2002 with the release of a self-titled four tune EP. Since then K. Page and Sleepwalker's Parade have performed at The Knitting Factory, Makor, and The Cutting Room. They had #3 hit on Ison Live Radio out of Australia, were on some compilation discs out of the UK. Green City is the band's first LP.
