CD Reviews

Tooth & Nail sold out.

"This is a pointless album.

Let's first consider the fact that even The Juliana Theory themselves thinks that this album is pointless. They disapproved of the album, but could do nothing to prevent Tooth and Nail from trying to profit off their name one last time.

Read the interview with Brett if you are unaware. It's around the internet somewhere.

That being said, this album is pointless because it has nothing that any fan would want. It has no new songs, and it doesn't even cover their entire career, therefore not being a true greatest hits album in the first place.

To be honest, the people that think that the 3 albums present in this CD (TJT's first 3) were their best ones, are part of the reason that the band broke up. Read Brett's long explanation on their website. He insults those people enough that I don't have to; and he is right.

Their later albums were substantially better musically unless all you care about is the pop emo genre that varies little between bands. The fact that neither of those albums (Love and Deadbeat Sweetheart Beat) are presented here (since they don't belong to Tooth & Nail) makes the album that much worse.

Even more stupid is the fact that not even all the songs that were truly GOOD are on this album! Tooth & Nail just went and chose whatever they thought should be on it, causing a bunch of less worthy songs to be in this album.

Buy the actual albums over this. Your money will be better spent, you'll get more of the good songs, and you'll get a better start in appreciating what was one of the greatest bands to ever grace the music scene."

"As an avid fan I still bought this cd without getting any idea of what was on it. The cd is really just songs from 3 different cds TJT already released (Understand This is a Dream, Emotion is Dead, and Music From Another Room). If you own all 3 cds already it may not be worth the money to you especially since there are no new songs on it."
You're all missing the point

"Tooth & Nail put this album out... as in, NOT The Juliana Theory. They aren't on that label anymore. Tooth & Nail tried to make money off the songs they hold the rights to (which, in all honesty, are from the albums TJT made that were actually GOOD) and did a bad job putting the compilation together."
