Judy & Bing A SMASH HIT!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Two Great Singers Together!! Judy Garland and Bing Crosby are both Brilliant Singers! Their duets together can only be described as Fantastic and something it seems that only the heavens could have thought of in blending these two Consummate Singers Voice's together!! Bing was at the very top of his form as far as in his Vocal Quality! And Judy's Concert Style Voice was already being developed when they recorded these originally Live Radio Broadcasts!! Two Wonderful Singers in their prime, who could ask for anything more??

This CD includes a compilation of songs that Judy Garland sang with Bing Crosby on his late 40's and Very Early 50's Radio Shows in which she made frequent Guest Appearances... In fact, the Great Radio Appearances Judy made in the early 50's singing with Bing and Show Stopping Solo Numbers Judy also Performed on Bing's Radio Show which are included as well on this Great CD, is what gave Producer Sid Luft (Judy's Husband) the idea of starring his very talented wife Judy Garland in One Woman Concerts!! So these Radio Appearances by Judy after she had just recently been dismissed from her Movie Musical Days at the MGM Studios was what kicked off Judy's Second Career as a Very Successful Concert Artist. Alot of Judy's Solo Signature Songs are also included on this CD as well as some Rare Songs which Judy Masters as only Judy Can!!!

My very favorite among the Rare Numbers that Judy Garland Performs Solo on this CD, is a song entitled, "You Belong To Me" She gives her Emotional 'ALL' to this particular song!! Judy also sings an Adult Version of her very famous song, "You Made Me Love You" which the Live Audience's Applause and many Excited Whistles of admiration at the end of this number- says it all!! I believe this is the only time Judy Sang the Adult Version of this song entitled, "You Made Me Love You" She also does a Different Version of her Famous Concert Tune entitled, "When Your Smiling" which is great fun to hear! And Judy does a rather Rousing Solo Performance of "Alexander's Ragtime Band" which I for one feel is her Best Performance Ever of this Great Song...

My favorite musical song picks on this CD that Judy & Bing Perform Together are as follows: "How Could You Believe Me When I Said I Love You When You Know I've Been A Liar All My Life" Which is an amusing tongue and cheek type of song done expertly by both Judy & Bing! Another Duet Number I really liked is "Hello Ma Baby" Also- an often time Comedic Medley which includes songs entitled, "Boise,Idaho" "Blue Boy" and "These Lush Moments" Judy Garland & Bing Crosby's timing together when performing these Song Numbers is Excellent!! And they both have such feeling and personality in their voices that all the wonderful songs on this CD are a Great Pleasure to the Ears!!! Another duet song number that Judy & Bing do particularly well together, is the rather Beautiful Tune entitled, "April In Paris" and you can really hear Judy's Powerful Concert Voice during her part in this Great Number!!! The only complaint I have about this particular song, is that it was much too short!

Of Course, the absolutely Crowning Moment of this CD, is when Judy performs her endearing last Musical Number which is her song, and her's alone--"Somewhere Over The Rainbow" It's so interesting to hear when she sings this Wonderful Song, with the Young Judy Garland Voice blending in with the more Mature Judy Garland Voice as she performs this Terrific Number on this Live Radio Show!! It is Simply Magical!!!

This is an Incredible CD of songs, and if you don't have this very entertaining CD in your collection as yet, your truly missing out on a Very Pivotal Chapter of Judy Garland's Great Career!!! I personally had a smile on my face all through the Great Song Numbers that were so generously included on this 'One of a Kind' 35 Song Set CD!"
