Listening to this New Year's Eve 1999 lovefest, it becomes clear very quickly just how influential the Judds were in shaping country music of the 1990s. In fact, their combination of '70s-style soft rock, '80s-style monster ballads, snarling Southern soul, and basic neotraditional two-steppers serves as something of a New Country template, despite the fact that they were superior to much of what followed in their wake. They reach as far back as 1983 for their earliest hits and yet the sound fits remarkably well within the turn-of-the-century landscape. Getting together for the first time in eight years, mama Naomi and daughter Wynonna roll through a blend of Judds favorites and Wynonna solo hits, sounding completely revitalized while the raucous crowd relishes every moment. --Marc Greilsamer

"Had I known back in the 80's that there would be a Judds Reunion CD I could have saved a TON of dough on their CD's...The Reunion CD is like the Greatest Hits Volume 1 and 2 together. I don't think I've even listend to any of my other Judds CD's since I bought this one, so many excellent songs on just two CD's.If you don't have a Judd's collection that this is the one to start with, if you already have a collection, well, it isn't complete without this one!"

"1999. Fears of the world coming to an end, among many of the issues at hand at this time. In 1999 we saw many miracles, but none like this. In 1999, Wynonna Judd and Naomi Judd reunited and went on tour. They hadn't performed since December 1991 when they called it quits when Naomi was quite sick, afterwards Wynonna started a successful solo career, and Naomi writing books and doing motivational speaking. This cd is from their New Years Eve concert in Phoenix, Arizona. All of the hits are on here. My favorite song is "River of Time", it has to be one of the most poignant and beautiful songs they have sang, and they bring so much life into the performance on this disc. Other hits include "Love Can Build A Bridge", "Love Is Alive" (another great one Live), "Girls Night Out", "Mama He's Crazy", "Grandpa", "Why Not Me" and more. As well they take time to acknowledge Wynonna's successful solo career, singing songs like "She Is His Only Need", "I Saw The Light", "Come Some Rainy Day" (dedicated to sister Ashley), "The Wyld Unknown" and a few new tracks (at that time) such as "Can't Nobody Love You (Like I Do)" and "Tuff Enuff" from her NEW DAY DAWNING CD. The beauty of the cd comes in the love you feel between Naomi, Ashley and Wynonna, and the love they give to their fans and the appreciation they have for them. They mention it several times. Naomi and Wynonna also give insight and advice for the new millenium, and also show their very big sense of humor, making this not only a entertaining show through the music, but entertaining through listening to these two.Naomi remarked in the concert that a lot of people were staying home for New Years, and that she and Wy were at home, on stage, with their family and friends. That's so touching. The concert is done in a way where on certain songs they chronicle their career, like on "She Is His Only Need" Naomi reminds us it was Wynonna's first #1, her first single. After singing, Wynonna thanks the fans for making it #1. On "Can't Nobody Love You", Wynonna afterwards tells us it's her new single, a nice touch. On "Had A Dream (For The Heart)" they remind us it was their first single. It's a nice retrospective of their wonderful career. "Come Some Rainy Day" Wynonna lovingly dedicates it to sister Ashley. Overall, this is a wonderful cd, and all these wonderful things make it a must have for admirers/fans of The Judds. Even if you weren't at the concert physically, this concert is inviting and makes you feel as though you are in the audience at the concert. They are so talented and their music will stand the test of time."
Millenium Reunion

"This was truly something fans of the Judds were waiting for. Ever since The Judds broke up in 1991, Naomi battling cancer, fans have been hoping for a reunion. Here it is! This is a live, 2 CD set recording, of their New Years Eve concert, bringing us into the year 2000. Miracles do happen this proves! Naomi successfully beat cancer, and it is evident that the magic of the Judds is still alive today. The energy between Naomi and her daughter Wynonna is like lightning! The concert begins with daugher Ashley Judd introducing Naomi & Wy to the crowd. Then its a powerful rendition of their heartfelt hit single "Love Can Build A Bridge". Fans will no doubt be impressed, as they sing major Judds hits such as "Girls Night Out", "River Of Time", "Mama He's Crazy", even their first single "Had A Dream ( For The Heart)"! As well this concert celebrates Wynonna's successful transition from Judds member to solo artist. Wynonna is truly a class act, she has always marched to the beat of her own drum and done country with her own flair and personality. Highlights among her hits include "She Is His Only Need", "I Saw The Light", "My Strongest Weakness", and more. She also debuts a new single from her NEW DAY DAWNING album "Can't Nobody Love You (Like I Do)", as well as another song which appeared on the album titled "Tuff Enuff". Perhaps one of the most heartfelt performances is "Come Some Rainy Day", a song Wynonna tearfully and emotionally dedicates to her sister Ashley. Overall this is a must have collection for fans of the Judds, whether or not you were there to seem them on the reunion tour, or even if you were, this will provide memories for years to come of what was one of the most successful female country duos of our time."
