CD Reviews

Straight Up, Bangin' House!
Colin Allrich | Los Angeles, CA | 01/02/2001
(4 out of 5 stars)

"You might remember hearing that great banging house tune "Stomp to my Beat" on the dance floors in 1999... but thanks to priority records JS 16's underground release "Stomping System" comes rising to the surface. Filled with that great 4/4 house beat, this album is sure to please any cluber, raver or house enthusiast. What's nice about the tracks on this release is that JS 16 (Jaako Salovaara) manages to capture the feel of what it's like to be down there, sweating it, on the dance floor. From the great funky cuts like "Love Supreme" and "Stomping System" to the hard, fast, party starters "Throw your Hands in the Air" and "Make Some Noise" your sure to get that booty on the floor. But the fun doesn't stop there, (thankfully) Jaako throws in a great old school breakbeat track "Beat Box" to mix it up a little. If you're looking for some good old funky house, look no further than this album. "Stomping System" is wonderfully produced and filled to the brim with high energy beats. If you're a fan of Bad Boy Bill, Richard "Humpty" Vission, or Terry Mullan definitely check this out. Finally, a great house album that rocks from beginning to end without any low points."
