CD Reviews

Good boxset

"A very good boxset. some people might not want all the early stuff.then there is a 2 disk version called essentials,

Cd one is the weakest of the three here as it contains many of the bands early recordings when they were more of a jazz rock type band but there are some stand out tracks such as Anyway You Want It and the brilliant Patiently.

Cd two is where it really takes off. There are half a dozen live tracks here from the album Captured which are superb and the CD finishes with 7 tracks from Escape which are all brilliant even though now they are nearly 25 years old.

CD three continues with more excellent material my favourites being Seperate Worlds and the gorgeous After The Fall.

If you are new to Journey or replacing your old LPs this is very highly recommended.

A Great Anthology of My Personal Favorite Band

"Time3 is practically every popular Journey song from the very first album to at the time, the most recent "Raised on Radio" although the booklet mentions "Trial By Fire" and "Arrival". It includes anywhere from 3 tracks to 7 from each album up until Raised on Radio. All the tracks are remastered and it includes 10 previously unreleased tracks from various points in the history of the band which later will appear on the re-release of Albums such as "Escape", "Frontiers", "Departure", and "Raised on Radio". The booklet is full of History, Pictures, Discography, and my favorite part of the booklet, song information on the songs and what they're about. The booklet was full of so much history that it passed as a work cited source in a college paper I had to write a few semesters back. The only flaw about this compilation is that it feels very out dated which I wonder if they will possibly release another Journey Compilation that will feature everything from the very beginning to The most recent Revelation Album. I wouldn't be surprised to see a compilation like that within the next 5-10 years. Overall, I recommend it for any Journey fans."
