"This "Josh Graves" CD is one of the finest collections/collection of dobro tunes in existence today on this planet. If you are a Josh Graves fan, this is the CD for you. His melodic style will never be duplicated by anyone. I believe this CD will, in the future, become a collectors item. All the tunes are excellently done. If you are a beginner or intermediate dobro player, you can jam along with Josh. Favorite famous tunes are: "Columbus Stockade Blues," "Shuckin the Corn," and "Cannonball Blues." The "Rainbow" tune may not be familiar to dobro pickers, but it's a good peppy tune to learn. The sound of Josh's Dobro that is captured on this CD is awesome. I highly recommend you purchase this CD. It's a keeper."

"Bad news first! I get an overall "pedestrian" feel. Josh just doesn't seem to be "up" on the album. Also he is behind the beat in several cases which isn't like Josh; the all-time Dobro time and timing champ. The best example of not being "up" is "I'll Be All Smiles Tonight". A great song, one of my all time favorites! But,though, this recording is technically superior to the Vetco and Puritan versions it isn't emotionally or musically up to either. This sort of thing happens too often with Josh when he records a song several times. One gets the feeling that he is not playing it so much as playing around with it. To sum it up; Three stars! 'Nuff said.
On the plus side the song selection is very good with just one of Josh's dittys. Good news is that it isn't Fireball or Long Road to Aspen! I liked the choice of personnel very much. If I forget criticism it listens well. Being a Dobro player myself I'm sure makes me view it differently than the so-called average listener. Strangely enough I would highly recommend it to the listener who isn't too familiar with Josh and just getting their "Dobro" feet wet. It features a wide range of songs and showcases Josh's style very well. On second thought, maybe four stars!"
