Synopsis

Product Description
Joseph Haas (1879-1960), an early 20th c. student of Max Reger, later professor of music in Stuttgart and Munich, and co-founder, with Paul Hindemith and others, of the Donaueschinger internationalen Kammermusikfeste für Neue Musik, was a late-Romantic composer of clear tonal leaning. This version of Das Lebensbuch Gottes, op. 87 (1934) for Womens Choir, Solos, Organ, Piano and small Orchestra was arranged by the composer himself. Winner of multiple awards, the Münchner Frauenchor and its director chose to perform and record this work for their 25th anniversary celebration.
