"By far of all the albums that Jose Jose made in the time from 1976 to 1986, Volcan and Si Me Dejas Ahora are the best in dealing with ballads. Romantico and Gracias as well as Promesas are just as wonderful, as well as the immortal Secretos, but one must note that Volcan is an album of soft and sweet songs that defenetly set the trend for the future of Jose Jose in his sound. Farolero is a soft and sweet ballad that was written by Rafael Perez Botjia, who was a long collaborator with Jose Jose from then onwards. Amor Lo Que Dice is my favorate song and it is by the same maestro, with him creating a haunting song that is also passionate and mighty. The title track is just as passionate, as well as Liberame, when Jaque Mate is quirky but still fun to listen to. This album has something for everyone."
