"I own this and play it often. Jose Alfredo, of course, was the greatest Mexican composer (no, I won't listen to argument) and one of the most prolific. This is better than Dylan singing Dylan or Guthrie (either) singing Guthrie or Kristoffersen; Jose Alfredo can sing. I'd only heard pieces of El Caballo Blanco in poporis and love the full version here. Sucedio En La Barranca (with a harmonica!) was new to me and other treasures like the lullaby and Gracias all give a bit of insight to the man himself. You really should hear Llego El Borracho and Caminos de Guanajuato again, by the man himself. I could never stand Si Nos Dejan, sung by anyone, but its the only song of his that I don't like and there ain't no accountin' for taste. Que le vaya bien."

"I am a man of many tastes. I enjoy minimalism, electronic music, hardcore, industrial, punk etc. I love listening to music from around the world. Jose Alfredo Jimenez has "mucho corazon" and is an artist that I would reccomend to anyone. This album is particularly great. Its simply an excellent collection of some of this man's greatest recordings. Get it, enjoy it."
