"Although most of these songs are available elsewhere you can hardly go wrong for the price. Part of RCA's budget line, this CD is a bargain at under ten dollars. Included are familar rancheras and corridos like "Camino de Guanajuato,""Corrido de Mazatlan," and the classic immigration song "El Caballo Blanco." The beauty for the initiated listener of Jose Alfredo Jimenez is that there are more of the lesser known songs. Case in point, there are seven songs here that are not included on "33 Grandes Exitos." Nearly impossible to have all the songs he wrote this is a nice addition to the collection of El Rey's songs. More is better in this case, one can never get too much of a good thing. For pure passion, performed by the greatest, in authentic style, this one belongs in any collection of Mexican music. Without any frills this is a collection of twelve songs by el inolvidable Jose Alfredo Jimenez, the king of Mexican ranchera music. Great stuff from the definitive interpreter of musica ranchera, el Rey, Jose Alfredo Jimenez."
