Search - Jonny Fair :: One Dark Day...

Right from the opening note I knew I was in for something unusual. Immediately, a strange & seductive environment was created. It kind of reminded me of the work done by David Lynch (e.g.; TV: "Twin Peaks", Film: "Blue Velvet"). Naturally, Jonny's voice is the main element in establishing the environment. His tone is alluring, yet he still managed to convey an unsettling mood. I particularly liked the tracks featuring The Fairwinds Chorale conducted by Dr. Ephrem Hawkins Sr. Another important part of the environment is the wonderfull performance & beautiful tone of Andres Carrasco. It was interesting to be caught up in this atmosphere, & then these cheerfull South American guitars come chiming in, an unexpected but welcome twist. I really enjoyed the tracks where the guitar parts were deftly & intricately intertwined. In short, I'm VERY impressed with this cd, very good work! -Mark T. Huotari RWS 02/24/06
