"This selection was originally part of the vinyl A&M Horizon series (which I own), the serious jazz collector's division of A&M. It's one of the last collaborations between Thad & Mel but it's one of the best. They continue to have empathy for one another in spite of legendary conflicts between them. You can hear the love on this recording, breaking down all communication barriers; it's no wonder they had such a complex professional relationship. All the tunes are wonderful, the writing is strong. Hopefully, with the resurgence of reissues, A&M will produce more from its Horizon catalog. If you can find a copy now, at a reasonable price, grab it, you won't be disappointed."
