"This is Soul baby!!! Johnny Lytle has a sound all his own. The title track will have you asking yourself "Why have I not picked this one up sooner" A must have for all Hammond B3 fans. One word to sum this album up?? Soul."
OF ALL THE JOHNNY LYTLE RECORDINGS IT WAS THE SINGLE/ALBUM E

"Although he (Johnny Lytle) had 1 (One) Billboard Charting Single entitled "The Loop", It was "The Village Caller" in the mid 60's that keep the skating ring floors packed, Radio Stations phones lighting up, and Quarters being put into the Jukeboxes. The album was very popular consisting of several themes built around the hit single (Of course!). Standout tracks are: "On Green Dolphin Street",

"Kevin Devin" and "Solitude" which was the B-Side of the "Village Caller" could have been a hit all on it's own! Johnny would follow up with 2 (Two) more albums "The Loop" (1965) and "New And Groovy" (1966) BOTH carring the "Village Caller" themes throughout. So, If you enjoy this album you might as well start saving up your change for these albums too :)"
