Album Description

Johnny "Guitar" Watson was adept at keeping current, so it?s ironic that by the time of this 1994 album, released after a decade?s layoff, he was soaking up the sounds of Prince, who had of course been deeply influenced by Watson himself. Bow Wow spawned two R&B charting singles, but Watson?s death soon afterwards marked the end of a still-vital music career.

"Johnny Guitar Watson's last (and one of his best) albums. Released in 1994, right before he died onstage during a concert in Yokohama, Japan, of a heart attack. This CD runs the gamut from funk, soul, and blues, and is one of the best albums Johnny made from beginning to end. The recent copy I purchased contains two additional unreleased songs, which makes it all that much sweeter for me. Everybody I have played this for loves this CD. I can never get enough of this guy."
