CD Reviews

Outstanding CD debut of John Morris' classic Blazing Saddles
S. R. Schauer | San Jose, CA USA | 06/04/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Previously only available in "bits and pieces" on a 1978 Mel Brooks soundtrack collection issued by Warner Brothers Records (only on vinyl, never seeing a CD re-issue), this is the COMPLETE John Morris score to the classic 1974 "Blazing Saddles".

Included are the favorites: Frankie Laine's epic title track, Madeline Kahn's "I'm Tired" and of course "The French Mistake". Also included are the original cue music and songs previously unreleased.

My favorite inclusion here is a previously unissued version of the title theme sung by Frankie Laine WITHOUT the whip cracks.

All of the tracks are presented in true STEREO with awesome fidelity and dynamic range.

Grab a copy before they get too hard to find."
