CD Reviews10 discs of the Hook! rick from Boston | 01/05/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "What a bargain. 10 discs of John Lee Hooker for an unbelievable price. Overall, the sound is very good with a few songs on the first couple of discs sounding really rough. The first 8 discs are early solo Hooker with the ocassional backing guitar or piano. Disc 9 sounds like Veejay recordings and the 10th is a live concert.Hooker mentions Lowell Fulsom and SP Leary but there is no live audience response. Good stuff though.The only drawback is that there are no liner notes at all. But if you want to fill out your collection with some great early stuff, this will be a great addition to your collection. Boogie on, Johnny Lee!"
