"Overall, this is one of the best purchases I've made. I really love this CD. I am an avid hiker who wanted to supplement my extremely poor bird-sighting abilities by learning to identify bird songs. Using this CD has been highly effective for me. The best thing about this CD for my purposes was that the bird song comes before the name of the bird, so it's much more useful for learning songs in the way I want to use them while hiking. The number of bird songs on the CD (200) was overwhelming to me as a novice, so I selected the ones most common to my urban area (about 30) and burned them to a CD. I play that on the random setting in my car, and it's been great for learning purposes. Now I just annoy everyone by saying, "Listen! A chickadee!" all the time. :)



The only thing I do not like about the setup of this CD is that there are two bird songs per track, which makes it less useful for self-testing purposes. When I made my own smaller CD from the tracks, I used a free track-splitting software to slice the tracks into one song per track. But I would have preferred not to have to do that.
