CD Reviews

Style and Substance

"Wow - just received this CD as a gift and have been listening to it constantly. Most guitar players with this kind of technical mastery would probably make the whole CD be about showing off their chops -- but this guy actually has something deep and awesome to say. His compositions are GORGEOUS. From the eastern-flavored As You Were and the futuristic journey of B4 through the totally bust-a-move groove of Funkyard, this CD is not only magically beautiful, it's full-on USEFUL -- I mean, you can dance to it, make love to it, meditate with it, drive at all speeds with it, reminisce about your old lover or send it to your new one.... Already looking forward to Mr. Bruschini's next CD."
Undiscovered Master of the Guitar

"John Bruschini explodes onto the scene with his first solo release. This CD features great original compositions, top-notch sidemen, and the extraordinary guitar playing of an undiscovered master. Bruschini's compositions erase the lines between jazz, blues, fusion, funk, and rock. These nine tunes cover an extraordinary spectrum of settings and emotions -- from sweet to soulful; from elegiac to electrifying; from introspective to downright incendiary. This CD has something to appeal to every listener -- beautiful melodies, tight ensemble playing, intelligent arrangements, and best of all, Bruschini's fiery and innovative guitar work. From the intense acoustic jazz of "As You Were," to the high-energy fusion of "Bloodroot," to the deep blues of "Way Down," to the heartbreaking beauty of "Sarah's," this CD contains a dazzling array of delights. Keep your eye (and your ear) on Bruschini -- he's the real thing!"
