CD Reviews

Solid first album

"This is a good modern country effort. All of the more uptempo numbers are very good and quite catchy. Some of the slower songs become kind of boring, which keeps this disc from getting five stars. The disc is definitely worth buying though."
Typical country/pop album

"I first heard Joey Daniels' voice on a commercial for this album. The song was "Swinging Door." It was catchy and infectious in a good way. So I went to her website, listened to a few samples, and thought it sounded worth buying. Now that I've bought the album and listened to it all the way through, I must say it's a little disappointing. It's not a terrible album, and I do like her voice. But I found the songs to be a little boring and definately not anything that hadn't already been done better a million times before. The song "Miracle" in particular just seemed to drag on and on. I think it could've been edited down a little. Other songs like "This is me Missing You," "Man of my Dreams," and "If You Love Me," just seemed to fail at grabbing me like forlorn love songs should. The song "Believe" seemed to start out like a social commentary on the overwhelming presence of violence in the world and then it turned into a "i'm gonna change my soul and be strong" kind of song. It just seemed to lack direction. In fact, the whole album just felt all over the place with no real sense of direction, which would really be the fault of the producers. Now, as I hate to be entirely negative I will say that two songs on the album I did like. The aforementioned "Swinging Door" is still an enjoyable listen. Also, I particularly liked the song "Hands on You." Unfortunately neither of those songs were written by Joey. The songs that she penned just weren't that strong. But I think there is some promise there and with time she can improve her song-writing craft. But hey, she's got a good voice. She could always stick to singing other people's songs and make a great career out of that. In summation, I predict that this album will be filed away into my collection only to remain there until it's time to purge the cds I never listen to."
Great Job Joey!!!

"Joey Daniels' Take Me Off the Market is a great cd that no one will regret buying. GAC is right; Joey is a fantastic singer! "Swinging Door" is my favorite song on Joey's cd. She sings very well in "Swinging Door". Another hit on Joey's cd is "Do it Again". I'm not the slow song type, but "Do it Again" is a magnificent song that makes me want to hear it over and over again. I also like the single hit "Believe" because of the rhythm that Joey puts in it. Joey Daniels is a fantastic entertainer! Do not listen to those one and two star reviews, and buy this cd today. Like I said before, you will not regret buying Take Me Off the Market."
