Synopsis

Product Description
The River Lethe was a mythical river, similar to the River Styx, where the souls of the dead went after their time on Earth had ended. Upon reaching Lethe, these souls were given a chance at eternal life by drinking from its waters. Having drunk from those waters, however, they would immediately lose all memory of their time on Earth...their loved ones, their family, their friends, their good times... all of their experiences would be forgotten, lost to them forever. Was it worth the price? ` Elijah Records recording artists JOE PIKET AND THE STORM explore this question with the epic title track from their latest CD, ?The Waters of Lethe?. The son of internationally acclaimed composer Frederick Piket, Joe Piket?s "The Waters of Lethe? has been compared to the music of King Crimson, Yes, and Queen. (Go to http://www.joepiket.com/ for reviews). The sub-4 minute version has already been receiving airplay on hundreds of college radio stations across the country. JOE PIKET AND THE STORM create an epic tale complete with soaring guitars, elaborate piano and keyboard arrangements, and contemplative lyrics. The CD also features an updated version of Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind", with Joel sideman Richie Cannata on saxophone, as well as other great new STORM originals. Available October 2004 at Tower Records, Amazon.com, Borders, Elijah Records? web site (http://www.elijahrec.com/) and other retail and on-line outlets.

CD Reviews

Elders Irish American fun
G. Casey | 09/06/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I love this album. The Elders are great fun live at the hometown (Kansas City) Irish Fest. We listen to the album over and over along with the likes of Young Dubliners, Siucra and the Flogging Mollys. The Elders are just the right mix of Irish traditional and American rock to be a whole lot of fun. You'll sing along with "Packy Go Home" and "Ten pound Earhole," hold your sweetie's hand to "Love of the Century" and dance to "Buzz's Jig" and others...."
Pass It Down by the Elders

"A short review wouldn't be enough to tell you how great this band really is. This CD along with any of their other CD's, of which I also own, will send you dancing on your feet, with no will of your own. A talented group of musicians and songs men, writing original material, with a great ability to tell stories in their music. When you can't see them live, this is the next best thing, they're such an upbeat band; spend the money for this one. You'll enjoy the music, no matter what your musical taste is, and you'll be sure to find a favorite, such as Packy Go Home, Moore St Girls, 1849, the Turning Point and many, many more - enjoy"
