"This in one of the best jazz albums I have in my collection. I first heard cuts played on WBGO FM and purchased the album. I play it at home and in my car. It is by far the best jazz instrumental album I've heard in a long time. I am now a confirmed Joe Locke fan. I look for every album he's on. I recommend this album above any new jazz album on the market."

"I am a great admirer of jazz vibe music and players like Milt Jackson, Mike Manieri, Bobby Hutcherson and especially Joe Locke. This time Locke's playing is lively and thoughtfully intertwined with that of his playing partners, pianist David Hazeltine, bassist Essiet Essiet, and drummer Billy Drummond. On other (also excellent) efforts, Locke has been rather more introspective and esoteric, but here his band mates "pull him out into the open". Their tight interplay pleases, while leaving enough "air" for deserved appreciation of each player. A great CD to be initiated to Joe Locke."

"An excellent, modern, Jazz Presentation. Their playing is tight, expressive and soulful. "Say a little prayer" was playing on the FM radio (KLON - 88.1/Cal State Long Beach) late at night on my way home from work. After hearing Locke/Hazeltine's interpretation of the song, it wasn't long before I ordered my own copy to enjoy! These gentlemen are excellent! Five stars!"
