One of the best, but check the rest

"This is a great album that deserves wider recognition. I must say, however, that Joe's earlier releases on the Fania label from 1967-72 are even better: "Gypsy Woman," "Singin' Some Soul," "Mr. New York & the East Side Kids," "Poor Boy," "Riot" and "Subway Joe" among others are all some of the coolest Latin Soul albums in existence."
An absolute must for Latin/Soul funksters everywhere !!

"Imagine. It's 1972 an you're strolling (or sneaking)around the ghetto area in New York. This is what you'de hear. Brilliant from start to finish, Aftershower Funk and Latin Strut are timeless classics.Lots of synchopated rythmic drums and wah-wah guitar overload. This is his first and undoubtedly best work before he cashed in on disco. Forget the rest, this is the one you want."
