"This album has to be one of the most prized in my collection. Never before have I heard such wonderful voice control. As a fan of 'treble' music, I am sick of the conventional and usually christian music repeated by choirs and soloists from around the world. New material is always a breath of fresh air, though purists would argue in defiance!!Thanks to Joao for providing good listening pleasure."

"If you enjoy fado -- Portugal's homegrown genre of intensely emotional music -- I can't imagine that you would not love this collection. I don't know how, but João Pedro manages to put more soul into his singing than singers three or four times his age -- and his voice is far more pure and controlled than the voices of the more typical cigarette-and-brandy-fueled fadistos.



Fado, as a genre, is roughly 200 years old -- and its survival is testimony to its great emotional appeal. If you have not yet discovered it, this recording could be a good introduction"
