Melbourne based jo kelly stephenson is one of those musicians whose path seemed destined to be. Growing up in a highly musical family, her musical development has been a remarkable journey. She traveled to melbourne at an early age in the back of a red kombi van wedged between a simpson washing machine and a fender rhodes piano. Some of her fond memories include doing the live circuit with her family, and dancing at her father's late night gigs. She has music in her blood. These memories have paved the way for the award winning guitarist, keyboardist, singer/songwriter, to culminate in the release of 'i see flowers, you see cars'. With jo kelly's rich musical history and acknowledged talent, it's not surprising that this album was nominated as one of four finalists for 'alternative country album of the year' 2008 - american independent music awards (ima).
