Granted, I'm a Harry "Sweets" Edison enthusiast but beyond his contribution, this is one of the best straightforward blues sessions I have ever heard. Witherspoon is tremendous in the same spirit as Joe Williams or Jimmy Rushing and the session swings and sways with a great supporting cast that includes Hampton Hawes, Gerald Wilson and Teddy Edwards. If you like the blues done up in a small ensemble jazz format, you'll wear this one out. Highly recommended."
