CD Reviews

IS THIS A JOKE?
J. Pitman | UK | 04/17/2009
(1 out of 5 stars)

"This HAS to be a joke. Surely no one who writes and produces stuff like this actually takes themselves seriously?

To quote from the CD: "...their years of struggle against the intransigence of the very people who were meant to aid them, have paid off handsomely. Their latest opus has catapulted Jimmy Eat World from perennial contenders to major league stars. The culmination of years of hard-graft in the face of record company neo-phobism and indifference. Snappy songs, bristling melodies, punk rock attitude, are all present and correct in this quartet's armoury. They have the sunshine-filled pogo-friendly pop formula down to a fine art, complete with catchy-as-syphilis tunes, scatter-gun brevity, and slacker cool. This music rumbles like a tube train speeding inches above your head."

Honestly, wtf are you talking about? Did you actually listen to this before you had it mass-produced and distributed? It's so tragically try-hard it's unbelievable. It's like someone has sat down with a dictionary and a thesaurus and a book on clichés and tried their absolutely hardest to write the most pretentious, cheesy, and adjective-filled BS possible. This is the first time in years of being an Amazon customer that I have felt it necessary to write a review. It's THAT bad. I literally find this CD offensive. For the sake of your sanity and your faith in the human race, don't buy this."
