A RARE MUSIC TREASURE FOUND AGAIN!
A. Immel | North America | 09/15/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Quintessentially late 60's artist at it's finest. Spheeris's poet lyrics grasped my heart some thirty years ago and often through the years, the words would rise up in my thoughts; I longed to hear the melodies again. Searched for years to find this album to no avail. Although the most expensive disc I have ever purchased, I knew I might never find it again. The music still posseses the magic of dreams and a life from the past becomes a reality in present. If only Jimmie had lived longer...the lyrics capture the freedom of the hippie generation and Jimmie's innate knowledge of medieval lyric ballads haunting. He truly was a unique individual, read about his life at[...]. And be sure to say Isle of View slowly and out loud; his message comes through clearly. There are not many lyricist's that can match his words on I AM The MERCURY...Spheeris has a cult following and I only wish there was mass production again for other generations to discover his art."
Younger Days

"I was overseas and in high school when this came out. Ever since then I have kept an eye out for it and scored 1 about 25 years ago for $5.00 and have it still. A more fantastic debut album I don't believe there has ever been. I am also a big Jackson Browne fan and these two traveled together when they were starting out but I believe Jimmie would have been a bigger draw had he lived. Excellent album."
