""A writer of great strength and passion" The Scotsman"Scotland's answer to Ray Charles" The ScotsmanMost people will remember Jim Diamond. Sing the first line of one of his million selling hits "I Wont Let You Down", "Should Have Known Better" or "Hi Ho Silver" and they will instantly recall his passionate, distinctive voice.Born and raised in Glasgow, Jim joined his first band at the age of 15. He was signed to Arista Records with his own band, "Bandit" at 22. From there he moved on to join the "Godfather of British Blues", Alexis Corner. After a couple of great learning years he moved on again to new pastures in Los Angeles, forming the band Slick Diamond with Earl Slick and Carmine Apice. He broadened his horizons further whilst in the States, producing with Carmine and writing with Michael Legrand.Returning to the U.K. in the early 1980's, Jim met up with Tony Hymas and Simon Phillips from the Jeff Beck Band and formed Phd. The next few years saw the success of his multi-million selling no.1 hits, an Ivor Novello award for Best Single and the commissioning of the theme tune for ITV's "Boon". Jim's time was then spent with international touring, promotion, writing and recording which naturally follows this success.

Now he has teamed up with Chris "Snake" Davis, a virtuoso saxophonist, to create "The Blue Shoes" and they are both touring Scotland with old and new hits.. I highly recommended to anyone with great taste in good music and composing.I searched the web and can hardly find anything with his name on it.. pretty depressing.. but then again..
THANK YOU AMAZON.COM FOR HAVING HIM HERE!"

"Jim Diamond has the most haunting and soulful voice I have ever heard, his lyrics are from the heart as is his voice, no singer touches this man and from my own experience as a singer, the voice is mastered to a T. Buy this album and you Will Not be dissapointed, trust me. "I Should Have Known Better" the most enchanting, heartfelt ballad of our time, "Hi Ho Silver" a pure genius of a song (the theme song from Boon) I will never stop listening to the voice of Jim Diamond and after you have bought this album I dont think anyone else will either."

"Growing up in the dutch islands, I was exposed to Jim Diamond, Gerard Joling, Demis Roussos..all fantactic european interpreters of music. However, no one beats Jim Diamond with his song "Should have known better." I have been trying to get this track for 15 years and until now, have found it. The music video of the track is equally phenominal from my recollection. Heart touching lyrics"
