CD Reviews

THIS IS NOT MUSIC
Grant | Northern Virginia, USA | 12/18/2001
(1 out of 5 stars)

"Another reviewer wrote "Jewel sings 62 songs in this album, and all of the tracks are excellent."Uh, no. There are no songs on this "spoken-word audio on CD." It's just Jewel talking about her life. I didn't realize that before I ordered it but now it's being sent back. Sorry, Jewel is a great singer (which is why I bought what I thought was one of her music albums), but I don't really care to hear her talk about the farm she grew up on."
THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL!!
Sara Coney | Isa Town, BH | 03/25/2001

"I fell in love with Jewel's voice since the first day that I heard her sing live in concert. I think that Jewel's songs are very good because she expresses her feelings through them. Everything on this track is just amazing. If you have this album,or thinking of getting it, then you will notice that she sings a lot about her mom and dad, she really is a family person. She also sings some songs in German(not included in this album). If you loved Jewel's previous albums, then you will just love this one more. Jewel sings 62 songs in this album, and all of the tracks are excellent. You better get this amazing album, and you will never regret it, believe me."
The mind of a poet
SandyWells | Galveston, TX United States | 04/20/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"How nice it is to not only read her book of the same title but to hear this music. For anyone who is interested in how the mind of a poet/songwriter works then get the book and the cd. It's so rare nowadays to have poets who are the true force behind their own singing voices and songs but with Jewel you get the real deal, the truth matches her name. I like how she describes the day she decided she needed to move out of the main house into her own cabin (which is common in Alaska to have a cabin), how nice it was for her to be in her own space with her own thoughts, this is when her writing really took off. I like the story of the "sponge bath" too! In Alaska the only bath you get is when the neighbor fires up the hot tub! I love how in touch she is with nature and horses and the land, a true poet. Long live Jewel and her art."
