This is a rather laid back and mellow set...which is great! A chance to hear some of the finest soloists as well as some pleasing ensemble work. This would be a terrific little band to see live...the upcoming release of the same band on Erimite is a somewhat wilder affair...the whole band is clicking from the first notes...and the set is much longer than the Ayler release. Get them both...It's Mr. Moondoc's time to shine...the more you hear him play, the more you're going to wonder why he isn't a bigger name...then you'll be searching for more of his stuff...for sure!!!" |
