Have You Seen the Saucers?

"Most music fans know that the Jefferson Airplane reassembled under the leadership of Paul Kantner to become the Jefferson Starship but their are some who ask "whatever happened to the Jefferson Starship?" the answer is simple silly white rabbit - they never left. Although the band has only two of its original members (Paul Kantner and Marty Balin) they are still very much with us and on the road. And what do they sound like now? Gather around my children and I will tell you. If you don't see them the next time they play at a venue near you (and they really do get around) they sound very much like what you will hear on this CD. After having more lives than a cat the Jefferson Starship is still here and vital.

Buy this CD and see their next show.

""Deep Space Virgin Sky" has always been a treasured set among the Jeff-heads. Adding a second CD and offering the full concert is VERY cool.

I'll be very honest with you up front: the draw for me is the five little words on the back of the CD: "Special appearance by Grace Slick." Yes, she rode "Starship" (with Mickey Thomas) into the dirt. Yes, that's her singing on Starship's "We Built This City."

But I've got to tell you...when she lets loose with "Probably keep us both aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive" ("Wooden Ships"), it's cold chills time and a reminder of why we loved her to begin with, why this band matters, and why EVERY 5-star review of this CD is spot-on accurate.

This might actually be the last "great" Starship CD...Paul, Marty, Grace, Jack...the full concert, excellent recording quality, 10 Airplane tracks, just a joy for anyone who followed the band in its prime.

My only complaint...not a surprise for anyone who's read my other reviews...is the absence of Jorma, but you can't have it all, I guess.

Highly recommended."
