Obra maestra imprescindible - A indispensable masterpiece

"Desde el momento que vi la soberbia versión que Jean-Paul Rappeneau había hecho del clásico de Rostand tres cosas quedaron grabadas en mi cabeza: la belleza de Anne Brochet (Roxane), la impresionante labor interpretativa de Depardieu y la no menos magistral partitura que Jean-Claude Petit había compuesto para la ocasión. Cada uno de los temas es de una belleza y sensibilidad fuera de toda duda. El tema de Cyrano es trágico, orgulloso, valiente, describiendo en apenas minuto y medio la compleja personalidad del protagonista y los ideales y sentimientos que lo envuelven. La partitura resulta, además, muy variada, con un amplio repertorio de temas diferentes, pero perfectamente cohesionados. Ningún momento tiene desperdicio. Una obra maestra de las bandas sonoras, de la que ningún coleccionista puede prescindir.My english is very poor, but I'm going to try to write some words to the people that can't understand my review in Spanish (with the help of my sister). I just want to tell that the music composed by Jean-Claude Petit is simply wonderful. Every theme, every note is really emotive, elegant,... Don't lose the oportunity to have the CD, over all if you love the film, because it is an authentic masterpiece of soundtracks. You don't regret, I guarantee you this."
Great soundtrack - A must have

"A good soundtrack gets you into the movie and makes you feel as if you are around as the story develops. A great soundtrack is the one that in addition to the above can be listened to in absence of the icon and still get you there. Jean-Claude Petit's Cyrano is one of these cases. Great music with many music themes, variations kept to a minimum and the film atmosphere all over the place. One of my favourite soundtracks, soon to become an all-time classic."

"If we undertook a zealous compilation around the most expressive soundtracks of the last four decades, and I was required for the top thirty top, this would be my list: Murder in the orient Express, Cyrano,, All the mornings of the world, The Godfather, Blade Runner, Jean de Florette , Manon of spring, Amelie, Cinema paradiso, Das Boot, Titanic, 1900 the legend, Amarcord, Chariots of fire, Le chat, Gladiator, The English patient, Bird, Brave heart, Chicago, Road to perdition, Life is beautiful, The piano, Amadeus, Once upon a time in America, Once upon a time in the West, The Thomas crown affair, Ulysses Gaze, Midnight cowboy, The sting and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid .
But what it makes this soundtrack so engaging, resides in the admirable conjunction between sense and expression, poetry and lyricism. Such level of balance demands a total immersion in the script and I think this factor was fantastically resolved.
That's why I would like you to suggest to acquire this glamorous and potent musical statement.
