Tejano singer showcases his emotive vocals on this collection of polkas, cumbias, and rancheras. Highlights include the title track and "Algo Mio," where he adds passion and color to easy dance numbers. Perez began his career as lead singer for the orquesta Tejana group Latin Breed and the conjunto band David Lee Garza y Los Musicales. But his love for R&B has always shone through in his singing and especially in his spirited R&B covers on his subsequent solo CDs. Here he takes on Tierra's 1980 pop classic "Together," about a teenager's eternal dream. While he's a passable singer, Perez doesn't surpass the original. --Ramior Burr
